Designing QR Codes That People Actually Scan
Make QR codes easier to trust and scan with better contrast, quiet zones, labels, and landing-page context.
A QR code is a tiny bridge between physical and digital context. It needs enough contrast to scan quickly, enough quiet space around it, and a short label that tells people what happens next.
Avoid placing codes on busy backgrounds or glossy surfaces without testing them. Small decorative changes can make a code feel branded, but the scan pattern should remain clear.
The landing page matters too. If the code opens a slow page or an unclear destination, users will not trust the next one.
