Will my passport or visa photo definitely be accepted?

No online tool can guarantee acceptance. Lumli checks common measurable issues and links the source used for each preset, but the issuing authority makes the final decision.

Can Lumli replace the background of an official passport photo?

Only for a preset that explicitly allows replacement. Official presets that require an original, unaltered photo keep digital background replacement disabled.

Why is the German passport and Personalausweis preset checker-only?

Since May 2025, biometric identity photos submitted inside Germany must be captured by the authority or an authorized provider and transferred through the official secure process.

Does Lumli upload my ID photo?

No. Face guidance, quality analysis, cropping, and export run in your browser. Your selected portrait is not uploaded to Lumli.

What does the passport photo pre-check measure?

It checks source resolution, detected face count, approximate head scale and centering, exposure, sharpness, and corner-background consistency. Expression, identity, recency, accessories, and legal exceptions still need human review.

Can I print passport photos at home?

Lumli can create a dimensionally correct 4×6-inch or A4 PDF where self-prepared prints are allowed. Some authorities require approved capture, studio information, specific photo paper, secure transfer, or professional printing, so the selected preset may disable print export.
